Everybody likes soap. It's something we use everywhere, everyday and it affects all aspects of everyday living. What about if, we had a ... magnetic soap! A soap that would be able to clean-MOVED and then removed with... magnets! That means that the cleaning process would be more effective, more environmental friendly and of course more healthy for everyone! It's a start and it's only been proved that magnetic soap exists. The research team, led by Julian Eastoe at the University of Bristol in the UK, took conventional surfactants and mixed them with an iron salt, resulting in the exchange of the original anion with the iron-containing ion. The resulting ionic liquid surfactant was shown to be able to respond to a magnetic field.
